Rev. Dr. Anthony Davis
After a recent Annual Conference, Usher's Temple C.M.E. Church was assigned a new pastor, Rev. Dr. Anthony Davis, from Fort Valley, Georgia.
We welcome our new pastor, Rev. Dr. Anthony Davis, and his wife, Mrs. Donna Braswell Davis, to Usher's Temple C.M.E. Church.
Reverend Dr. Anthony Davis was born and raised in Fort Valley, Georgia, to the union of Daisy Davis and Milton Trice. He attended school in Peach County, after which he joined the Army Reserves for two years and then went on to enlist in the Army where he faithfully served for eight years. He returned home and attended Fort Valley State College. He is 1993 cum laude graduate earning his Bachelor of Science degree in Middle Grades Education. In 1994, he also earned his Master’s Degree from Fort Valley State College. He furthered his education at Troy State University in Alabama, earning his Education Specialist Degree. He attended Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville, Georgia where he completed his course work for Ed. Leadership in Administration and Supervision; as well as Bethany Divinity College and Seminary where he earned his PhD in the Philosophy of Religion. Dr. Anthony Davis has been employed in the field of education for 30 years and has worked at the Elementary, Middle and High School levels. He is currently employed with the Atkinson County Board of Education where he serves as the principal of Willacoochee Elementary School. Dr. Davis has been the recipient of numerous awards in both education and the ministry.
Dr. Anthony Davis began his call to the ministry in 2003. He was Ordained Deacon in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in 2005 and Ordained Elder in 2007. He has pastored several churches in the South Georgia Region.
Dr. Anthony Davis was a delegate to the General Conference in 2018 and 2022. He served as a trustee for the South Georgia Region and a member of the ministerial examination committee. He has also served as the treasurer for South Georgia and Chair of the Joint Board of Finance. At the close of the 121st Session of the Central Georgia Region Annual Conference July 19th, 2023, Dr. Davis was appointed as the pastor of Usher’s Temple Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Fort Valley, Georgia.
He is married to Donna Braswell Davis who is also an educator of 32 years. He has three beautiful daughters, Ashley Evette, Faith Alexandria and Christiani Danielle; and one granddaughter, Remi Lee. Dr. Davis is passionate about God, family and helping others. He values dedication and service and is a firm believer that excellence is a journey and not a destination. In all his endeavors, he puts his faith and trust in God and God’s word. He is inspired to teach, lead, develop and mentor God’s word to God’s people.
Usher's Temple is a church where its members are growing and moving by the power of God's Holy word, and by the inspiration of The Holy Spirit. We are a faith-based fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Over
years of Preaching, Praying, and Praising God is evidence that the life and legacy of Christ continues to abide in the lives of this great congregation.
